Mark is a very pleasant person to work with. He was very patient throughout. He is also very thoughtful - when we had to look at a house at night, he brought a flash lamp, in case there is no electricity. Evidentally, there were no lights in the unit. For most part, he responds to all the emails very quickly. In some cases communication was delayed due to the slow response from the seller. But Mark was very punctual and responds to all the questions immediately. We are extremely happy with Mark's service and we would recommend him to all our friends without any hesitation.
We worked with Mark on our relocation to the Chicago area after living out of state for over 10 years. As we were unsure of exactly where we wanted to live Mark was very patient with us as he showed us properties in and around the city as well as the suburbs. He took us to multiple showings a day and painstakingly dealt with our never ending questions about each property with a never wavering upbeat demeanor. He advised us on the Pros / Cons of each location including the proximity of local schools, property taxes, local restaurants / stores, and so much more. We would not hesitate to use Mark again if our need arises and I highly recommend him to friends / co-workers for all of their real estate needs.
Mark was very helpful recently when we wanted to see a property right away. We were running late and he was super accommodating. We were interested in a very cheap basement property, and he treated us really well even though he didn't stand to make a lot of commission. Would definitely recommend!
We began working with Mark in January 2011 after meeting him through a co-worker of mine. My wife and I thought our only options were a town home or a condo based on our budget, and began our search in Chicago. Mark treated us very well, drove us out to numerous listings during the week after work and on the weekends. He is was very patient with us and was a joy to talk to. He took the time to answer any questions that we had, and also told us things to think about that we never would have thought of. He always took the time to explain the home buying process, as this was our first time. After looking at several listings, we had asked about single family homes that were in our price range. Once we began to see what was available, we decided to pursue a single family home. Communication was was top notch; Mark always called and emailed when he said he would, and even spent time in the late hours communicating with the sellers agents forwarding their responses to us. Mark went above and beyond his duties in helping us find our home. There were times during negotiating that were stressful, but Mark always advocated and fought for us. We recommend Mark for your real estate needs in Chicago, as you will have a great experience looking for your home as well as working with an awesome realtor!
This is the 2nd home Mark has helped me find. He is a great guy; very friendly, helpful, and fast to respond. Great person to know.
The first question above asks, "How likely are you to recommend this agent. Let me put it this way: I my lease is dated 10 days ago, and I already have recommended him.
Mark was amazingly helpful. He asked relevant, detailed questions, and emailed a long set of recommendations on those. From there, he responded to my comments, and honed the list even further, before spending a day, driving me around, and showing apartments.
When we found a place, he was an active advocate on my behalf with both the landlord and their representatives.
And on top of all of that..he's a good dude, with a great sense of humor!
I'm tremendously thankful to have had his help when while I was looking for a new apartment!
I am writing this review for Mark Malave, an outstanding Real Estate Agent based in and around Edgewater/Rogers Park Andersonville. I had the great privilege of meeting Mark in October of 2011. I am a single female, disabled Iraq Veteran, and an artist based in Chicago. I was determined to use a V.A. home loan to purchase my first home. Like many people, I did not have family close and I relied mostly on cursorily researching for real estate agents, the best I knew how.
After searching on Trulia, I came across Mark's name associated with many homes for sale. Mark had several exemplary reviews, so I reached out to him. A little bit about Mark from beginning to end.. firstly, I have never, in my post-military career, met a more professional civilian, a more hard working and genuine individual, than many of my most respected colleagues, friends and family. Mark worked with me, asked excellent questions, fielded all of my questions PROMPTLY, and he went on more home showings than I care to admit on this venue. With each and every showing, Mark was on time, completely prepared, and also coordinated with the seller's representation, every time.. Again more times than I thought even my picky self would go through.
Using a V.A. Home loan is tricky, I had come to find out, with several variables. I had some bids that fell through, due to the lengthy V.A. processes, no fault to Mark or his team of Mortgage Associates or Represented Counsel.
Again, I did not have any family to help me through this, so I relied heavily on Mark to allay fears, answer all of my questions and especially questions related to saving me money.. And Mark did save me money.. Sometimes by making sacrifices of his own.
I have been a pretty guarded person, as a combat veteran, not trusting people, in general. I have a pretty well honed sense of people who are harmful, fake, self centered, or unprofessional. Mark once told me that he is primarily a real estate agent (yes as a profession, however he owns several properties) but really, because he wants to see good people placed in great homes, contributing to wonderful neighborhoods.
I absolutely one hundred percent believe him. I cannot emphasize enough the genuine nature of Mark Malave. I would recommend him to everyone I know, especially Military Service Men and Women. Anyone who has the luck/blessing of working with him would Roger up with the same sentiment.
Mark is the best realtor I have ever worked with. His patient, knowledgeable, and really takes care of his clients. His positive attitude and helpfulness were really appreciated in my condo search. I know I was a picky and demanding client, but he didn't give up, and he stood by me till I signed all the paperwork at closing. If you are searching for your condo, contact Mark, as I guarantee, he'll be there for you until you'll find what you want. Mark, thank you very much for being so great with me and my search. I really appreciate all you've done for me.
Before I started real estate "shopping" in 2011, I "interviewed" three real estate agents from my friends' recommendation to random Internet search. Mark is the most knowledgeable, patient and amiable one. In the following years (2014 now), Mark is my only agent in Chicago.
Mark is always on time (let you know if he will be late), well-prepared with his jeep, which provides good vision and allows you to visit anywhere without difficulty in snowy winter. He is on your side and trying to create win-win scenarios. In the past few years, the ratio was about one winning bid from 5-10 offers or even more, since the Chicago market was full of multiple offers per each unit. However, Mark was very patient, kept encouraging us, and showed us more properties in each week. He was knowledgeable and always told us many key points plus details when we walked into a unit. He could also provide professional comments in a closing process. He also has strong connections to high quality (with reasonable prices) re-modelers and contractors which could save your energy to find these people.
Mark is a native Chicagoan and knows the local market quite well. He could offer decent rent/sell/buy price estimate and manage to achieve the target price. So I would highly recommend him as your buyer/seller/ rental manager!
As first time home buyers, we were extremely anxious about the process. Mark was a true professional - starting from his understanding of our needs when recommending condos for viewing, through his responsiveness to our endless questions and finally in the actual closing. Mark knows the area very well, he is honest and above all a really cool guy to hang out with. We are so happy that Mark was the one who took us through this process, with patience and professionalism. We would highly recommend his services to anyone looking to enter north Chicago's real estate market.
